‘Fragility’ 2 at Hoxton Arches

My lovely friend, Anna Granberg from Sweden, is our poster girl this year, and well deserved too. She always has a curious take on the theme, and a different way of looking. I also really liked Maria Walker’s comprehensive collection of beach finds made into spoons.

I found Barbara’s chained lady rather eye catching for its diminutive size. Nita Bruce’s exquisite knitted wire pieces just demand to be fiddled with (I didn’t!), and Julieanne’s woven twigs flying off the wall, will hopefully do just that. I chatted to Masha Karda at the AGM; she is one of our thirteen new members and had seen work by the Prism group online in Israel, so applied to join. Originally a jeweller by training, she was attracted by the quality of making and skill. It is wonderful that we are still retaining, and reaching out to encourage members around the world.

Fragility is on from 29 May to 9 June 2019 at Hoxton Arches, London.
