Julieanne Long

When stewarding a show you can spend useful time pondering artwork. These are Julieanne Long’s beautiful weavings at the RBSA. Delicate somethings. Willow and natural dyed threads. For me they conjure up tangled thoughts of promises and hopefulness. Like amulets and talismans. It puts me in mind of making small bits from felt and wool, dipping in slip and firing high. Including flotsam and found stuff. Playing with texture and ends.
