Scribbled Light ‘shades’

Translating the drawing of a light shade using wire and weaving. My own technique. Mimicking the spontaneous scribble, allowing the unruly lightweight wire to find its own way. An old fashioned filament bulb and woven cord compliments this one-of-a-kind light fitting. Cobwebby shadows flicker on the ceiling reminding me of Junichiro Tanizaki’s beautiful book on Japanese aesthetics In Praise of Shadows.
